High Intensity Discharge Lighting (HID) is chosen by a majority of gardeners in their grow roomd. It is the most effiecient form of lighting for horticultural use, using sodium and metal halide lamps. In order to start the bulb to light, HID lamps require large amounts of power; it can be twice the normal running power and as the lamp ages, may increase. Ecotechnics Powerstars timers can keep up with the high current switching you need with HID lighting without failing.
